Vêtements des Vampires (or, Vampire Clothes in English), was my Senior Illustration Thesis.

For my thesis, I wanted to explore the clothing and times of historical eras and humanity vs. inhumanity through vampiric characters, lovingly named Vampierre and Fangelique.

Being an Art History major as well as an Illustration major allowed me to have access to knowledge about–and interest in–historical movements or dress that I knew I wanted to include in my thesis from the very beginning. These eras span from the Tudor Period to the New Romantics movement of the 80s.

The pieces themselves are gouache on canvas, some of which have colored pencil additions. They all have beads sewn in, embellishing their clothing and bite marks on their necks. The vampires’ eyes and fangs glow in the dark, a subtle show of their vampiric nature.
